How to reach Darmstadt?
... by car:
There are two freeways near Darmstadt. A5 (from Frankfurt/Main or Heidelberg/Basel) and A67 (from Köln/Wiesbaden or Mannheim) are crossing three kilometers in the west of Darmstadt. Leave the freeway and follow the signs "Stadtmitte", which will lead you downtown. The street is called "Rheinstraße".
... by airplane:
The airport Rhein-Main in Frankfurt is 25km away from Darmstadt. It takes about 20 minutes to reach Darmstadt by car. Otherwise there is a shuttle bus called HEAG-Airliner which stops at the central station in Darmstadt. For details you can download a pdf file with fares and departure times here.

The Schlossgartenstr. is shown in the map above (in the north of the "Herrngarten"). You can choose several buses (F, H or K) or trams (2,3 or 5) from the central station to "Luisenplatz" or "Willy-Brandt-Platz". For more details see http://www.rmv.de. A one way ticket costs 1,35 EUR.

The Darmstadt Symposium 2006 will take place at the Georg-Christoph-Lichtenberg-Haus. It is shown in the map above in the northeast. You can reach it by the F-bus. The stop "Fasanerie" is directly in front of the house. For more details see http://www.rmv.de. A one way ticket costs 1,35 EUR.
By car:
On the autobahn A5 or A67 use the exit called "Darmstadt-Stadtmitte" and go straight ahead on the feeder road in the direction of the town center. Follow the signs for the city ring road ("City-Ring"), go into the tunnel and get into the right lane. Still in the tunnel you have to turn to the right. Out of the tunnel turn left into the "Hügelstraße". Turn left into "Kirchstraße" at the next big cross-way. Now go straight ahead until you see the castle of Darmstadt on the left. Turn right into "Alexanderstraße" at the following cross-way. A few hundret meters ahead the road changes its name into "Dieburger Straße". The Georg-Christoph-Lichtenberg-Haus is on the right side with respect to driving direction, house number 241.
